Hiring a Professiona to Paint Your Pet
(Work in progress) If you want to have a professional paint a portrait of your pet, there are a few things to know about the source photograph and the process of the transformation into a painting.
Take a photo at the animal's level. It should show the pet's personality e.g. a happy face like Tanner's or a pose that illuminates the subject. Color and good lighting is important. A photograph is not always accurate in color. The sun or a flash can lighten the face and body. Other photos will help the artist with coat color and personality too.
Notice how light Tanner's face appears in the photo. He really has quite a red tone all over including his face which other photos can assist the artist in getting it right.
Mink's photo already had a nice glow of light on his face, which in this case, translated nicely into the oil painting,
